This is very exciting! I'd like to try something new – and I need your help please.

As you know, I am an independent artist and I release my own self-funded, self-produced CDs and projects. I am sometimes asked why I haven't released more CDs, and the answer is usually something to do with the many costs involved (which is very frustrating). I do actually have a day-job, but like most people, I also have other obligations. However, after chatting with an Australian independent musician-friend, I was made aware of 'pledging'.

The new album: 'Ye Olde Silent Inn'...

I can't wait to get back into the studio. I have the songs almost ready to go and I'm very happy with the way it's all coming together. I feel that these are some of the most atmospheric songs I’ve ever written - dancing through a veil of night time and ghostly memories, echoes and haunted old inns. Unsettling but hopefully pretty too. I can’t wait to record and release them as soon as possible – and I’d love you to be involved.

I just couldn’t do it without you. Whether you’ve known me and my music for years or you’ve just discovered me, it’s your interest and support that keeps me going. I have so many CDs worth of songs floating around in this arty head of mine and I'd just love to record them all.

How you can be involved:

I've compiled a list of treasures and experiences below. By purchasing these treasures and experiences, you will help me bring 'Ye Olde Silent Inn' to life.

Once you’ve made your pledge, you’ll be part of a special group of supporters who’ll receive the album as a download as soon as it’s ready – way before its official release. You will also receive personal emails or letters from me with updates about the album and recording process, including exclusive news and and maybe even some rough mixes and early demos of the songs. You will get to see photos and receive information which the general public won't get to see or hear about.

Your pledge will make a difference: My plan is to record 'Ye Olde Silent Inn' during the Summer this year, and to launch it officially in late November, at The Old Silent Inn at Stanbury, West Yorkshire. When you pledge your support by choosing from the treasures and experiences below, you will ensure that you are among the first people to hear the songs.

You can choose from the following unique treasures or experiences:

1. A signed copy of 'Ye Olde Silent Inn' as soon as it is printed and pressed, and posted to you with some special free gifts. £20

2. A coffee mug featuring the 'Ye Olde Silent Inn' CD cover photo (to be printed and posted to you in early  December). £15

3. A signed A4 print/poster of the 'Ye Olde Silent Inn' album cover (to be printed and posted to you in September). £10

4. A handwritten A4 lyric sheet with the words to the new song 'Ye Olde Silent Inn' (the feature song of the album). I will hand-write the lyrics and decorate the borders with little drawings or paintings. Each one will be completely unique and signed by me. To be posted to you as soon as I complete it. £50

5. A unique A4 sized watercolour painting by me, inspired by the themes featured in 'Ye Olde Silent Inn'. Each piece will be completely different and the painting will begin as soon as your pledge is received. It will be posted to you as soon as I complete it. £100

6. Book me for a private concert in your home or venue. Perhaps you have a special occasion in mind, or maybe you would just like to gather some friends in the living room or garden for your very own private performance. I will perform songs from my albums 'Unfurling' and 'Luminous Wings & Unseen Things' for you, as well as songs from 'Ye Olde Silent Inn' - you will be amongst the first to hear the new songs performed in a 'live and acoustic' setting. £500 in the UK (includes my travel expenses and accommodation, with the surplus going towards funding 'Ye Olde Silent Inn'). Please contact me if you would like me to perform a private house concert outside the UK, to negotiate prices.

What happens if I receive enough pledges to fund 'Ye Olde Silent Inn' and have surplus left over?

I will put any surplus funds towards the Winter/Frost-themed CD which I would love to record next year, in time for the season.

It's February... there's frost outside... and I feel very pleased with the way the new CD ideas are coming together. In fact, at the moment I have too many songs ideas... too many songs. As you know, each of my previous CDs had 16 songs on them (although some were little atmospheric 'joining' pieces)... but at the moment I have over 20 to choose from. I love this stage of planning a new collection... allowing the songs to almost choose themselves and fall into place. I am going to write some more on these pages about the new CD soon - I'd like to tell you about the themes and ideas. Alas, I am out of time now, but please watch this space, and I'll be back soon,
